We can manage our stress…. and we must! Unmanaged stress can negatively impact the workplace in the following ways: millions of dollars in lost productivity, escalated medical costs, high absenteeism and presenteeism, increased accidents, low morale and increased employee conflict. In our trainings we teach the physiology of stress and how it wears down the body, effective relaxation and mindfulness practices, simple yoga exercises and the power of laughter. Participants enjoy the sessions, learn a lot, and relax!
Participants will learn how to:
Manage challenging work situations with greater calmness and focus
Enhance personal productivity by focusing the mind and achieving tasks more effectively
Apply simple relaxation practices at work and during personal time
Examine self-talk and create affirmations that help reduce negative thought patterns
Valuing Diversity at Work
In today’s economy, organizations will be measured on how well individuals understand, communicate, and partner with a diverse range of customers, colleagues, and team members. This training will explore the value of diversity and how it can be leveraged to empower individuals and improve organizations. Sometimes we hear, “I don’t care about peoples’ gender or color or life styles, as long as they get the job done!” However, we know people tend to respond and react to each other based on human differences. Employees from various backgrounds may experience micro-inequalities daily, which has a negative impact on morale and team work. Further, the statement implies that difference is a deficit rather than an asset, and we know that the most successful organizations are those that value diversity.
Participants will:
Learn effective techniques to help reveal and minimize the negative effects of personal biases and stereotypes regarding human differences
Examine the relationship between valuing diversity and maintaining creative, energetic, and leading-edge teams
Explore cultural biases toward certain groups based on race, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, ethnicity, etc, and how they influence the workplace
Examine ways that workplace conflict, when addressed with an open mind and a focus on organizational missions and goals, can be seen a pathway to greater synchronicity and collaboration
Working with Emotional Intelligence
"We live in a time when our prospects for the future increasingly depend on managing ourselves and handling our relationships more artfully." Daniel Goleman, "Working With Emotional intelligence."
This session addresses participants’ need for personal competency in the area of emotional intelligence. We examine self-awareness, self-management, how to empathize with others, and how to become more adept at inducing desirable responses in others. These skills are essential for leadership, teamwork, mediating conflicts and maintaining high morale. Emotional intelligence training can be individualized to address your organization's primary concern – customer service, teamwork, mission focus, diversity and any other key to your organizational success.
Participants will:
Learn the key components of emotional intelligence and their relationships to personal qualities such as initiative, empathy, adaptability, and persuasiveness
Explore how emotional intelligence can increase employee cooperation and collaboration
Examine personal emotional triggers - common events that cause individual emotional discomfort - and ways to effectively manage those triggers
Practice mindfulness techniques and examine the relationship between increased self-awareness and decreased conflict at work
